The development status of the mold industry

- Jul 22, 2019-

Mould, as the name implies, is used to make molding tools. In industrial production, various moulds and tools for the required products will be obtained by injection molding, blowing molding, extrusion, die casting or forging molding, smelting, stamping, etc.. Because the mould is an important process equipment in the process of material forming, the mould can be used to produce a large number of valuable parts that meet the quality requirements. Therefore, the mold is known as the "mother of industry" and is widely used in machinery, electronics, automobiles, information, aviation, aerospace, light industry, military industry, transportation, building materials, medical care, biology, and energy.
China's mold industry started late, but the speed of development is very rapid. The development of 30 years has made our country become a big country of mold manufacturing and consumption, and has established a complete mold industry system. The mold manufacturing level has also become an important symbol for measuring the level of manufacturing in a country. Its industry-driven ratio is approximately 1:100, that is, the mold industry development of 100 million yuan, which can drive the development of related industries of 10 billion yuan, becoming a strong backing for manufacturing development.
In 2017, China sold more than 200 billion yuan of molds, and 243.3 billion yuan of Chinese molds supported 27 trillion yuan of product manufacturing. China Mould Industry Association General Secretary General Qinke said at the "Mold and Modern Manufacturing Industry Report" held on the afternoon of April 10 this year that China's mold companies are well-equipped and mold manufacturing ecosystems are healthy, which is downstream product manufacturing. The efficiency amplifier has a significant role. Boosting the development of China's equipment manufacturing industry, the improvement of market-guided capabilities is reflected in the core parts manufacturing companies on the integrated industrial chain, and the die industry, which supports consumer support services such as automobiles and consumer electronics, is an indispensable part of these manufacturing industries.
Especially in recent years, with the rapid development of the automotive industry, electronic information, home appliances, building materials and machinery, the mold industry has achieved rapid development. At present, although China's total mold production has ranked in the forefront of the world, mold enterprises are numerous. However, the design and manufacturing level of molds is generally behind that of Germany, the United States, and other countries. The specific performance is that molds with low technical content have been oversupplied, and medium and high-end molds with high technical content are still far from meeting the needs of the national economy. High-grade molds such as precision and complex stamping molds and plastic molds, car overlay molds, electronic connectors and other electronic product molds still rely heavily on imports.
